WATER SAFETY

This guide is designed to assist you during your visit to our historic harbour in order that your use of the water is safe and fits in with the activities of other harbour users.

Lyme Regis Harbour is a commercial working harbour so ALL water users, unless authorised by the Harbour Master, MUST keep clear of the busy harbour mouth, and not attempt to cross it or use the pontoons.

Most water activity takes place along the main beach with specific guidelines and zones.

There are no lifeguards or specific activity zones on Monmouth Beach so there could be a variety of water-based activities going on in the same place at the same time. Great care should be taken to avoid other water users. It is not permitted to launch powered vessels from Monmouth Beach.
