SAILING

Most sailing takes place under the auspices of Lyme Regis Sailing Club and Lyme Regis Sea School.  Dinghies are launched and recovered onto the public slipway.

Visitors should be aware that our slipway provides 20m in length and width into the drying harbour bed over which 4-wheel drive vehicles can drive with care at low water. And to make things easier, you can make use of our slipway pontoon whilst you arrange storage for your trailer or vehicle.

Please come and see us in the Harbour office before launching to complete an application form and collect your launch sticker number.

Harbour users launching for the first time this season must provide evidence of Third-party insurance on arrival or launching is not permitted.

Visiting yachts should contact the Harbourmaster when planning their passage to confirm depth available. We can accommodate vessels of up to 10m with depth of up to 2m on our visitor pontoons.

Radio: VHF channel 16, working channel 14.

Visiting leisure craft can berth against the pontoon that has been provided, which runs to the left-hand side of the Harbour mouth.

Fin and long keel boats can pick up one of the visitor’s buoys outside the harbour or drop their anchor in the general area of these buoys.

Car parking is available, there is a large area at the top of the slipway for harbour users only. Trailers can be stored in the trailer park to the side of the harbour office.

Sailing vessels should keep clear of the beach swimming area marked by a line of yellow buoys extending eastward from the north wall of the Cobb.
